A greeting from our new home in Sri Lanka
July 5, 2023The days in Sri Lanka are striking at the moment, if you’ve been dreaming about this little paradise in the Indian Ocean, this is the time to go! The high season is just kicking in, and it really is the best time of the year to visit. If you’re looking to escape winter and rather spend it in a surfer’s paradise, Sri Lanka is waiting for you.
Imagine waking up with the sun on a winter morning, the temperature outside is 30 degrees celsius and you are on your way to the ocean for a surf. The vibes at the camp are energizing and the waves are pumping.
The high season, or the summer season, in Sri Lanka is between December to April. This means that it just started and it really is our favorite time of the year to visit. But besides the excellent weather and waves, there is something else that’s making us very excited: we have been renovating a new home here in Ahangama!
We’re expanding our surf camp with a brand-new house, so more surfers, travellers, and adventurers can experience one of our favourite places in the world. Curious? Let us tell you all about it!
The new house is a two-minute walk from the beach, so we have waves at our doorstep – how cool is that? The camp is at the same location as our original camp, close to Kabalana Beach on the south coast of Sri Lanka.
We wanted it to be an oasis that really reflects the tropical vibe, and also a comfortable base for your surf adventure. You can enjoy a huge swimming pool, a new yoga space, a skate park wave, two bars, high-quality double rooms, and dorms, as well as common areas both inside the stylish house and outside under swaying palm trees.
